Organical Botanical: Glowing skin on the go

A big thank you Tanya for letting me sample all of her different skin-care products in her Organical Botanical line! All opinions expressed are my own.

Why skincare?

I do my best not to wear much make-up when I’m traveling. Not a revolutionary concept. But a practical one.

There’s less to put in my suitcase or carry on — which eliminates the possibility of any of my makeup being spilled, even if it’s in a plastic bag. Having no make-up on me also eliminates the TSA hassles, who once stopped to scrutinized my shampoo for so long, other passengers were glaring at me for holding up the line. Even better, when I leave much of the make-up at home, I also get out the door quicker in the mornings, because sunlight is precious, especially for female solo travelers.

But here’s the truth.

For a long time, I couldn’t help but feel a little bit vulnerable on some of those barely-any make-up days, and maybe I have moments where I even a little insecure. I doubt I’m the only one. But now, that’s changed.

Maybe you can’t tell by looking at this photo because sunhats are a great distraction, but I felt awkward taking this selfie in Bermuda.

Like, REALLY awkward.

Selfie cameras are way more close-up than I need. But that was before the Organical Botanical skincare line came into play!

The solution.

Organical Botanical is a modern-day herbal apothecary, holistic spa + lifestyle shop in Rhode Island — it’s where I used to live, until I moved to New York City.

What did I like about Organical Botanical immediately? Every product from their skincare line is formulated and created by a real esthetician who works with dozens of clients every week, and really looks at and knows about different combinations of skin because of all the women (and men!) who she works with.

That’s Tanya.

Tanya is my esthetician, and the first time I ever got a facial from her, I noticed my face wasn’t red, none of the extractions hurt, and my skin actually felt supple, firm, and it had this matte look and glow.

And most of the dirt and grim in my skin, gone. #Glowgoals

I was hooked, and became Tanya’s regular, loyal customer.

I’m actually taking the 3-hour train from New York City to Rhode Island for Tanya to deal with my NYC smoggy face (so much car traffic pollution). And I know she’ll get the situation handled. That’s how convinced I am that these natural skincare ingredients from the Organical Botanical line are simply magic.

Their skincare secrets

Organical Botanical products formulated in small batches using only consciously-sourced, organic, wildcrafted + fair-trade ingredients. Every step of production is done in-house, and Organical Botanical says they maintain a close connection with the full cycle of products (from seed to bottle) to ensure the highest quality, potency and purity.

The skincare line doesn’t use synthetic preservatives, sulfates, petrochemicals, GMOs, artificial fragrances, dyes or fillers.

Evernthing is even bottled in reusable glass packaging.

The all-natural ingredients you’ll want to know about:
Calendula + Yarrow

Calendula: Scar, healing transformation.

What is it? Calendula oil is a natural oil extracted from the Calendula herb, also known as the marigold.

Tell me more. Calendula has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can help with wound healing by stimulating tissue and collagen production, which makes healing cuts, scrapes, burns, bruises, and insect bites quicker.

How does it work? The highly-concentrated Organical Botanical moisturizer helps with fast healing and regeneration of the skin. It’s also deeply moisturizing, so this is how my skin looks matte, soft and supple. No make-up needed, selfies or not!

The moisturizer isn’t overpowering with its scent, but it does smell a little bit like fresh flower potpourri.

I have scars on my face, some of it is from teenage acne, some of it is from who-knows-what. I noticed, in combination with taking Ritual multivitamins, that my scars looked like they were fading. I noticed this, when I began putting less and less make-up on my face.

Because it just wasn’t needed.

Regardless if where I was.

This is a real (and awkward to share) text message I sent to Tanya when I started noticing the difference… just a few days after receiving the box she sent.

That’s way more information than anyone needs to know, but it’s the magic of Calendula and the other natural ingredients.

Yarrow: Minimize fine lines, reduce redness + scarring.

What is it? Yarrow is a Eurasian plant from the daisy family, with small white, yellow, or pink aromatic flowers. Yarrow is also one of the world’s most powerful natural astringents.

What does it do? The moisturizer is a highly concentrated, botanically-infused, antioxidant-rich face serum. The astringent aspect helps tighten skin.

I use it in spots where my skin feels more oily, and the moisturizer definitely controls that. In areas where I use the serum, my skin seems to “drink” up the moisturizer, which gives it a more healthy supple glow.

And it only takes a little bit of the moisturizer on my face focusing on parts where there are lines (wrinkles, big sigh) and scarring.

That’s a lot of benefits.

The results:  I’m incredibly happy I got to try these products, and even happier I’ll get to see Tanya soon for a facial.

Because the products work with both preventative and corrective action, I’m saving so much time with makeup by just taking better care of my skin. And with better skin, it’s one less thing to think of or worry about when I travel. And that’s less money spent on make-up.

So, when you take-off to your destination.. drink a lot of water when you land. And this time, you can leave the make-up at home.
